Helston Community College, part of Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, are seeking a dedicated, resilient and compassionate Reset Room Coordinator & Pastoral Support Assistant to join our pastoral team. This is a key role in supporting students who require additional behavioural, emotional and social support, enabling them to succeed both academically and personally.You will coordinate and help supervise our Reset Room, ensuring it operates as a calm, controlled environment where students can reflect on their behaviour, complete work and re-engage positively with learning. Alongside this, you will provide targeted pastoral support to vulnerable students across the College.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate the day-to-day operation of the Reset Room & help superviseSupport students in regulating behaviour and re-engaging with learningWork with teaching staff to provide appropriate work and ensure completionBuild positive relationships with students to support emotional wellbeingLiaise with Senior Leadership, Heads of Year, SENCO and safeguarding teamsMonitor, record and report on student progress and behaviourSupport reintegration back into lessons following time in ResetABOUT YOUHave experience working with young people, ideally in a school or similar settingDemonstrate strong behaviour management and de-escalation skillsBe calm, consistent and emotionally intelligentBe able to build strong, professional relationships with students and staffShow resilience, flexibility and a proactive approachHave good organisational and communication skillsWHAT WE OFFERA supportive and collaborative school communityOpportunities for professional developmentA strong commitment to staff wellbeingThe opportunity to make a real difference in students’ livesBenefits of Working with Us:As a leading Academy Trust, we are able to offer our staff a range of continued professional development opportunities alongside family friendly policies and access to the Local Government/Teachers Pension Schemes.
