Reset Room Manager job summary

Are you calm under pressure, confident in managing challenging behaviour and passionate about helping young people make positive choices?

Newquay Tretherras is looking for a proactive, resilient and committed Reset Room Manager to join our team and play a key role in promoting positive behaviour and supporting students to succeed.

Working closely with the School Behaviour Lead and wider pastoral team, you will manage the day-to-day operation of our Reset Room, creating a calm, structured and purposeful environment where students are supported to reflect on their behaviour, remain engaged with learning and prepare for a successful return to lessons.

You will maintain high expectations and consistent routines, build positive relationships with students and support the delivery of targeted behaviour interventions. The role also involves monitoring behaviour patterns, communicating with parents and carers, coordinating detentions and contributing to the school's wider approach to behaviour and student support.

We are looking for someone who can combine firm but fair expectations with patience, empathy and excellent communication skills. You will be organised, confident in responding to challenging situations and able to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive school team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to young people's everyday experiences, helping them overcome challenges, develop positive behaviours and achieve their potential.

Newquay Tretherras is one of the largest schools in Cornwall, with over 1700 young people, including a thriving Sixth Form, set on the beautiful north coast. We are a popular and over-subscribed school at the heart of our community. We are known for being an inclusive school with a caring family ethos. Our judicious curriculum is ambitious and aspirational for all of our children as we believe that a great set of exam results, whatever a child’s starting points, opens doors to exciting futures. Our staff set high standards and we aim to ensure that all our children are inspired in school to become the best that they can be, realise their full potential and achieve remarkable things.

Tretherras students are a pleasure to teach and learn with: they know that their education is important for their life chances and they take full advantage of the incredible range of clubs, experiences and facilities offers to them at Tretherras, both within and beyond the classroom.

We have a large team of specialist staff who are fully committed to our students and to each other. We offer excellent pastoral and professional support for all our staff and our dedicated Learning Team ensures high quality training and career development opportunities for all, whatever the stage of your career. Whether you are a newly qualified or experienced teacher, you will find Tretherras to be a school that will invest in you personally. We offer an extensive and highly supportive programme for teachers in the early stages of their career and there are lots of opportunities to become involved in the wider life of the school. As a member of CELT, we also provide an extensive CPD programme and opportunities to share school improvement expertise with colleagues from across the four secondary schools in the Trust.
