Working pattern
- Part time (Can be done as a job share): The role is 24 hours per week, term time only. No weekends or school holidays. The daily working hours will be 3 afternoon/evenings and 3 mornings across Monday – Thursday. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon/evening: 3pm - 8pm Tuesday, Wednesday morning: 7am - 9.30am Thursday morning: 7am – 10am Plus, one additional flexible hour per week for admin work. There is an expectation of a paid sleep in duties at least once per week

What will you do?
This exciting and rewarding role involves working in a small team environment called Kiplings.
You'll be supporting pupils after school, during the evening and the following morning.
During this time, you will be working with the children, encouraging and supporting them to develop with their independence, communication, personal care, socialisation, healthy lifestyle, mental health and wellbeing and positive behaviour outcomes.
What are we looking for?
- The ability to relate well to children and to adults.
- Someone who will work constructively as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Demonstrating a “can do” attitude.
- Willingness to undertake appropriate formal training.
- Ideally hold the NVQ 3 in appropriate discipline (or recognised equivalent experience).

What can you expect from a typical day in our residential setting?
Evening:
3.30pm - Meet and greeting time from the school day
4.00 pm - Helping hands tasks and teatime
5.00 pm – Club activity time
5.45 pm – Individual play time
6.00 pm – Personal care and bath/shower time
6.45 pm - Medication and supper time 7
7.20 pm - STAR time and preparation for bedtime or pupils to prepare for home
Morning:
7.00 am – Wakeup, personal care and medication
7.45 am – Greeting and helping hands tasks
8.00 am - Breakfast time & feeds
8.40 am - Free time and prepare for class
9.00am - Time for school

Horton Lodge Community Primary School is a maintained special school for children aged 2-11 years with physical disabilities, associated learning difficulties and a range of complex needs including communication, sensory, and health. Horton Lodge is a small and friendly school with incredibly passionate staff who are constantly striving for the very best for our pupils.
