Risk and Data Manager job summary

Risk and Data Manager

Arrangements: Full time, 37 hours per week, all year round

Starting Salary: £45,715

Starting date: 1st June 2026

We are looking to appoint a proactive and analytical Risk and Data Manager to lead the development of risk frameworks and data driven decision making across the organisation. This role combines strategic oversight with hands on data analysis, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively while leveraging data to drive performance and insight.

This new role will provide a key link between the central Risk and Policy function and the schools across the Trust whilst managing a standardised approach to data collection and reporting.

Key activities of the role include:

  • Reviewing and making recommendations on due diligence documentation for new Academies joining the Trust
  • Working with school-based staff to ensure remedial action is undertaken promptly in response to risk and policy issues.
  • Overseeing the Trust’s use of MIS platforms (SIMS), ensuring schools are using systems effectively and in compliance with Trust expectations.
  • Creating KPI reports for different end users e.g. strategic, central, school specific etc.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of analysing and interpreting complex data to inform decision making.
  • Understand risk management principles and frameworks.
  • Have experience of producing reports and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Be familiar with Management Information Systems and working within an education setting.
