What skills and experience we're looking for
You will:
- Take a lead role, working in liaison with the Senior Leadership team (SLT) in the planning, coordinating, management and evaluation of the safeguarding and child protection provision within the setting.
- Take a lead role in ensuring behaviour management strategies are effective and appropriate. Monitor progress of behaviour interventions and strategies to ensure they are robust and fit for purpose.
- Provide family centred support to remove barriers to children’s learning.
- Work directly with vulnerable children and their families and engage with outside agencies to ensure the safety and welfare of our children
- Work with the schools’ inclusion team to help coordinate provision.
- Prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines.
- Use IT applications and databases effectively to deliver administrative tasks.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written format, in relation to work undertaken.
- Oversee the implementation of effective strategies and communication around pupil attendance with a safeguarding concern.

Ravensdale Junior School is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Safeguarding and Pastoral Support Manager, to take a pivotal role as part of our safeguarding team. We warmly welcome applications from those who have experience in this area and are passionate about making a real difference to the lives of children. Applicants should have a good working knowledge of safeguarding and thrive on challenging themselves and others towards continuous improvement.
As part of the pastoral role, you will support pupils to overcome their barriers to learning and develop their potential, both inside and outside of the classroom, effecting positive behavioural change through intervention. You would be joining a team of committed and supportive professionals and the school can offer a breadth of opportunity to develop and enhance your skills through training and support.
