As a Safeguarding and Child Protection Assistant, you will contribute to the development of safeguarding and child protection policies, training, procedures and guidance across the school. You will work with the Designated Safeguarding Leads to assist in the coordination of referrals, actions and the review of services for vulnerable children and families. You will ensure that policies, procedures, systems, structures, resources and personnel are in place to promote the welfare and protection of children, all colleagues at Ninestiles and to support vulnerable families.

We are looking for someone who:

- can demonstrate experience of working effectively with vulnerable children/young people in either education, social work, youth work or another related area of work

- has experience of working effectively with a range of professionals to promote children’s/young people’s learning and/or welfare or has significant recent experience in work with children and families in a statutory childcare agency.

- has experience of working effectively with the parents/carers of children/young people.

- has demonstrable knowledge of the principles involved in giving advice and guidance to children/young people, including the place of confidentiality.

- has knowledge of the responsibilities of agencies towards vulnerable children.

About our Academy

The recent Ofsted report following an inspection in November 2024 concluded that Ninestiles, an Academy has taken effective action to maintain the standards identified at the previous inspection and when we were confirmed to be an ‘Good’. Some highlights from the report confirm that our learners do well socially and academically and respect others’ differences. Our pastoral care and the support given to learners is highly effective and all staff have high expectations of what our learners can achieve. The focus of the Academy is to work with our learners to secure good qualifications as well as preparing them to be good active citizens. Our Leadership team have thought carefully about the subjects our learner’s study and are offered a wide range of subjects at Key Stage 3. This prepares them well for the choices they make at Key Stage 4. A full range of subjects are offered at Key Stage 4, matched to pupils’ interests and ability. A strength of the school is the number of trips and activities offered to pupils. There are more than 70 clubs, including sport, music, art, drama and debating.
