Hethersett Academy is seeking a committed, professional and positive Safeguarding Manager (Maternity Cover) to join our team; a leader who shares our belief that all pupils have the right to succeed and have access to the very best education.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • To work with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and maintain highly proficient safeguarding practices to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.
  • To develop, maintain and be the specific point of contact for outside agencies to ensure ongoing effective partnership relationships.
  • To identify students at risk and liaise effectively with the DSL to ensure that pupil safeguarding needs are addressed as required.
  • To lead on the analysis of performance data for areas within this remit and generate reports and commentaries as required for various stakeholders.
  • To ensure that pupil safeguarding needs are addressed as required.


About You:

The successful candidate must be exceptionally resilient, empathetic, and objective. You will have sharp critical thinking for assessing risk, flawless confidentiality, and the collaborative skills to communicate effectively with students, school staff, and external authorities like local children's services.


Essential:

  • Proven practice in leading, motivating and supporting staff to achieve high standards.
  • Ability to make decisions, identify and solve problems based on thorough analysis and sound judgement.
  • Ability to analyse and use data to establish benchmarks and set challenging targets for improvement on an individual, team, department and pupil level.
  • Appropriate training for Safer Recruitment and Child Protection would be desirable but training can be provided in the role.
