Safeguarding Officer job summary

Thank you for your interest in the role of Safeguarding Officer at The Milton Keynes Academy.

We are seeking to appoint highly organised and meticulous individual to work as part of our busy safeguarding team, supporting the effective operation of the Academy’s safeguarding service on a day-to-day basis. The post holder will act as a first point of contact for any safeguarding and child protection concerns providing timely support and advice to safeguard students, making external referrals to a range of agencies, as and when appropriate.

Applications are encouraged from candidates with previous experience of working with children and families and dealing with complex safeguarding and child protection issues. The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge and understanding of relevant safeguarding and child protection procedures and legislation and be able to apply these effectively in practice. The ability to build and maintain good relationships and communicate effectively with students, parents/carers, colleagues and external agencies is essential.
