- Experience with young people and commitment to developing individuals
- The ability to evaluate practice and to address your weaknesses
- Initiative, flexibility and responsiveness to change

Ratton School became a converter academy on 1st of August 2012 and joined with Ocklynge Junior School on the 1stof December 2017 to form the South Downs Learning Trust. The aim of our trust is to provide an outstanding educational experience for all students in our schools. The School Direct Salaried Training Programme is an employment-based route for high quality graduates, typically with at least three years’ experience of transferable work history. You’ll earn a salary while you train towards your Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recommendation and won’t need to pay any tuition fees.
We are looking to recruit a trainee teacher in Design Technology for September 2023.
Our preferred candidate will specialise in Food Technology but may have other experience or specialisms within the Design Technology umbrella of subjects. We are looking to fund this place to unqualified teacher pay point 3 (currently £23,777).
You will need an undergraduate degree at class 2:2 or above, or equivalent. Candidates typically have a degree in a subject which includes the following:
- Product Design
- Product Design
- 3D Design
- Textiles
- Architecture
- Food Science
- Food and Nutrition
- Sculpture
- Art and Design
- Graphics
- Electronics
We are looking for the following personal qualities:
