School Administrator job summary

We are seeking a organised and enthusiastic individual to join our team in a busy and vibrant primary school office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage a variety of administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.You will need to be a friendly, approachable attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential, as is a passion for supporting the educational environment.

Organisation

  • Undertake reception duties, answering general telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitors
  • Assist with pupil first aid/welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff etc.
  • Assist in administration arrangements for schools trips, events etc.

Administration

  • Provide general clerical/admin. support e.g. photocopying, filing,complete standard forms, respond to routine correspondence
  • Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems
  • Produce lists/information/data as required e.g. pupils data/attendance
  • Undertake typing and word-processing and other IT based tasks
  • Take notes at meetings
  • Sort and distribute mail
  • Undertake administrative procedures
  • Maintain and collate pupil reports
  • Nursery Administration

Resources

  • Operate relevant equipment/ICT packages (e.g. word, excel)
  • Provide general advice and guidance to staff, pupils and others
  • Undertake general financial administration e.g. processing orders

Qualifications/Training

  • NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline

  • Knowledge of relevant polices/codes of practice & awareness of relevant legislation

  • GCSE’S Maths and English grade 4 or comparable
