Main purpose of role

Are you someone, preferably with school based experience, with good admin / organisational skills? Do you have a warm, welcoming and inclusive approach? Then this could be the role for you.

We are looking for an experienced receptionist / administrator to join us.

The successful applicant will be the first point of contact for many of our parents and visitors in person, on the phone and over email. They will be responsible for organising regular school events and other office tasks as well as supporting other staff and pupils as needed.

They will be working as part of the office team and also independently. The role will involve multi-tasking to a high level and a sense of humour and a flexible approach is essential.

This is a rewarding and varied role with scope to be involved in many aspects of school life.

What skills / experience are required

The posts will cover all aspects of school administration and a solid working knowledge of Microsoft packages and G-Suite is essential.

Our school attracts a diverse range of visitors and families therefore essential qualities for the successful applicants are warm and inclusive communication skills while maintaining an effective professional approach.

There are several events throughout the school calendar - from school photographs and leavers hoodies to parents evenings and nursery sessions - that the successful candidate will be in charge of organising and communicating with parents and staff about. They will also be in charge of the process of booking supply staff and so an attention to detail and ability to prioritise in a fast paced and busy environment is essential.

Experience of using other school based admin packages such as BromCom, School Grid and Class Dojo is desirable as well as a working knowledge of the Government’s Nursery funding scheme.

Similarly a knowledge of basic financial processes including invoicing and purchase orders would be desirable but not essential.
