What skills and experience we're looking for
Bousfield Primary is looking for a dedicated, dynamic School Business Manager (SBM) to join our school.
The successful candidate will be responsible for finance, procurement, personnel, administration, and premises to ensure the smooth operation of the school’s facilities and our extensive premises resources, which support our teaching and learning.
Making a significant contribution to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the SBM works closely with the Headteacher and other members of the SLT to ensure that the school meets the needs of its learners and the wider school community.
Responsibilities also include line management of the support services of the school: the premises team and school business team.
Ideally, you will hold a relevant professional or degree level academic qualification eg in accounting/H and Level 4 or 5 School Business Manager qualification.
You will also have SBM experience, however, career development candidates are also welcome to apply.
What the school offers its staff
We offer a friendly working environment with committed and dedicated staff.
We welcome conversations about flexible working for the SBM post.
We have excellent CPD opportunities, tailored to your career development.
We offer free parking onsite and free tea and coffee.
We enjoy a fantastic work setting. Bousfield is a celebrated modernist primary school designed by the architectural practice Chamberlin, Powell and Bon—the same architects who later designed the iconic Barbican Estate. A rarity in central London, we have an abundance of outside space, including a Forest School, chicken coop, allotments, outside kitchen, extensive playgrounds and even an amphitheatre!
Flexible working opportunities
We value a healthy balance between work and life outside school and will consider flexible working arrangements for this role.
This could include condensed hours and/hybrid working.
We ask for the same flexibility in return, particularly at busy points in the school year, so that we can continue to meet the needs of our pupils and support one another as a team.
