What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to the retirement of the current School Business Manager after 28 years of service, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Business Manager to join our warm and welcoming team to help lead the strategic direction of the school. Ideally the successful candidate will have previous experience of School Business Management or equivalent.
About the Role
As School Business Manager, you will be a key member of the Senior Team, working closely with the Headteacher and Governors to ensure the efficient and effective running of all non-teaching operations across the school.
You will lead on:
- Strategic financial planning and budget management
- HR and recruitment
- Administration and office systems
- Estates, facilities and premises management
- Health & Safety and statutory compliance
- ICT systems and business operations
- Income generation, procurement and contracts
- GDPR and Data Protection Officer responsibilities
You will oversee a dedicated admin team and play a vital role in ensuring resources are used effectively to support excellent outcomes for pupils.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has successful leadership or management experience, ideally in education or a similar complex environment
- Has strong financial and budget management skills
- Can lead teams positively and inspire high standards
- Understands HR processes, compliance and operational management
- Has excellent organisational and communication skills
- Can think strategically while managing day-to-day priorities
- Understands GDPR and data protection responsibilities (or is willing to develop expertise)
