We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and strategic School Business Manager to support our senior leadership team and play a vital role in the continued success and development of our school.
In April 2026 we have the exciting task of relocating our school from Dereham to Swaffham. We will be moving into a purpose built complex needs school, with more space, equipment and facilities. We will increase our number on roll to 225 pupils, with the additional intake of Early Years and Key Stage One learners.
The Role
As our School Business Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the school’s strategic and operational business functions, including:
- Finance management – budget planning, monitoring, and reporting
- Oversight of the move to Swaffham - logistical management and procurement processes
- Premises management – ensuring a safe, clean, and effective learning environment
- Health & Safety – compliance with all statutory requirements
- Procurement & Contracts – managing suppliers and service agreements
- Administration – ensuring efficient and effective support systems. Policy management
You will work closely with the Headteacher and Governors to ensure the school runs smoothly, efficiently, and in line with its educational goals.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Financially literate with strong budget management skills, knowledgeable about funding opportunities and grants
- Experienced in HR, facilities, or business management (ideally in an education setting)
- A strong communicator and team player
- Organised, analytical, and able to meet deadlines
- Familiar with relevant legislation, safeguarding, and school compliance frameworks
- Experienced at leading, empowering and coordinating teams to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- A recognised school business management qualification (e.g. DSBM, CSBM, or equivalent) is desirable, though candidates with strong relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
