School Business Manager job summary

The Governors are seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly motivated, enthusiastic and flexible individual to fulfil the role of School Business Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to build on the work of our current SBM, who is leaving following a promotion. The ideal candidate will help shape the school development plan in collaboration with senior colleagues and successfully implement specific objectives in accountable areas, which include Administration, Finance and Health and Safety.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience from educational or other financial and business backgrounds.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • An understanding of strategic priorities and how finance can support these
  • Proven experience of financial management, budgetary planning and control
  • Have the ability to lead projects and understand change management
  • An understanding of Health and Safety issues
  • Excellent communication skills
