What skills and experience we're looking for

As School Business Manager, you will oversee and lead the strategic direction and day-to-day management of finance and operations across the school. Working closely with the headteacher and as a member of the senior leadership team, you will be a key driver in ensuring that our school runs smoothly and sustainably, supporting the best outcomes for our pupils and staff.

We are seeking a person who is:

  • An experienced School Business Manager with a proven track record of excellent financial management.
  • A strategic thinker who can drive improvement and manage change
  • An enthusiastic, organised and flexible person.
  • A collaborative team player and good communicator
  • Competent with overall financial management of the school
  • Able to manage operational functions including premises, health & safety, HR and IT services
  • Competent in using online portals such as FMS and SIMs
  • Able to support the governing body with financial monitoring and reporting
  • Able to attend governors meetings, when required to do so
  • Able to lead a team – including caretaker, cleaners, school secretaries, lunchtime staff and extended schools staff

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced School Business Manager to join our team and play a vital strategic leadership role in the continued growth and success of our school from September 2025.
