What skills and experience we're looking for

Our Opportunity

Lythe CEVC Primary School is looking for a forward-thinking and motivated leaders to run our Breakfast and After School Club.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with our senior staff to create engaging activities and help shape this exciting new provision from the very beginning.

Our Wrap Around Care welcomes pupils aged 4–11, with anticipated group sizes of up to 10 children and likely fewer during the initial stages of the provision.

You will have the opportunity to independently deliver and supervise activities, with the full support of the Headteacher and wider staff team to help with planning and resourcing activities.

We are looking for individuals with experience of working with children, whether in play work, childcare, or educational settings. If you are passionate about creating fun, safe, and enriching experiences for children, we would love to hear from you.

Key Duties

  • Welcome children warmly and keep accurate records of attendance so we always know who is joining the session.
  • Deliver engaging activities, including safe, enjoyable, and imaginative games, crafts, and projects that encourage participation and enjoyment. (Support with planning and resources will be provided by senior staff.)
  • Prepare healthy snacks and refreshments, ensuring food hygiene standards are maintained alongside setup and tidying responsibilities.
  • Create an inviting and organised environment with activities and resources prepared ready for each session.
  • Provide calm and caring support, including basic first aid for minor bumps and scrapes.
  • Support children with practical tasks, organisation of belongings, and general wellbeing throughout the session.
  • Maintain clear supervision and promote a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where all children feel happy and secure.

Essential Knowledge & Skills

  • An understanding of, and commitment to, providing high-quality childcare
  • An understanding of food hygiene requirements
  • The ability to plan and deliver safe, age-appropriate activities
  • Experience of working with children in a play work, childcare, or educational setting
  • A current first aid certificate
