School Cook ( Kitchen & Supervising Post 16 students with additional needs ) job summary
Do you have catering experience and looking for your next challenge? Do you have a passion for working with young people?
West SILC are recruiting for a School Cook to join our dynamic Post 16 provision. The school cook will provide high quality meals alongside West SILC students to support developing their independence and employability skills in an inclusive manner. We are looking for a passionate, friendly individual with a can-do attitude to work enthusiastically with our Post 16 students to develop their skills.
The qualities we are looking for include:
Ability to timely prepare and service meals that are well cooked and appetising.
Ability to provide effective leadership within a kitchen and take responsibility for the day to day supervision of pupils on work experience, in a supportive environment
Ability to supervise pupil’s performance and provide feedback in a supportive and encouraging manner.
Ability to create and deliver interesting menus that develop pupil’s skills
Ability to ensure that the necessary standards of food hygiene are always met in relation to statutory regulations.
Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety standards.
