School Counsellor/Creative Therapist/ Psychotherapist job summary
The school is looking to appoint a school counsellor/ creative therapist/ psychotherapist to begin as soon as possible. The position is part time for 2 days per week, term time only (daily rate). Preferable days would be from: Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
Shaftesbury High School has a long history of high quality pastoral care. We offer a number of supportive and therapeutic services to our students, including drama therapy, attachment-based counselling and art therapy. The school has a strong commitment to the value of effective mental health, which includes a robust sense of wellbeing and a well-developed emotional literacy. The Talk Therapy Team works closely with the Learning Mentor Team.
We are looking for a specialist school counsellor/ creative therapist/ psychotherapist. We want to employ a suitably qualified, registered and experienced practitioner. Someone who understands how growing up with special needs can affect young people and their families. The successful candidate will have a well-founded way of understanding and responding to the complex needs of such young people. You will understand how to work in a school setting. You will work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team with other professionals involved in a young person’s life. You will understand the importance of your own support and be in frequent and regular clinical supervision. Shaftesbury will work with the expertise of the successful candidate in their field of school counsellor/ creative therapist/ or psychotherapist.
