School Counsellor job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available at our state-of-the-art schools. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly-motivated, and experienced School Counsellor to join our dedicated team. About the Role
The successful candidate will provide an independent and confidential counselling service to pupils. Our belief is that every child really does matter and that all of our students should feel engaged, challenged, and supported in an environment where they can experience success and enjoy their learning.
Responsibilities:
Offer individual and group counselling sessions to students.
Provide support and guidance to pupils dealing with emotional, social, and educational issues.
Develop and implement intervention strategies to improve students' well-being and academic performance.
Maintain accurate records of counselling sessions and monitor students' progress.
Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive environment for students.
Refer students to external agencies for additional support when necessary.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
An understanding of the developmental, emotional, social, and educational issues of children and young people.
Experience of working with students demonstrating challenging behaviour or dealing with disadvantaged circumstances.
The capacity to work collaboratively as part of a developing team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A relevant qualification in counselling or a related field.
Proven track record of effective counselling in an educational setting.
