School Finance Officer job summary

The role is for 28 hrs per week, working over 41 weeks for fixed term - maternity cover only, for the maximum of 12 months.

John Madejski Academy is a multi-cultural, multi-faith mixed comprehensive Secondary School in the heart of Reading where we celebrate our diversity. Years 7 to 11 are developing and rapidly expanding, and our Sixth Form has seen substantial academic success. Our students have a wide range of opportunities and PE and Performance Sport plays a significant part of school life here, with high quality sports coaching available through our performance sports programmes.

We couldn’t do what we do without our fantastic staff team, and we are looking for a Finance Officer to join our team, providing a comprehensive financial administration service to the school, including maintaining finance records and information management systems and providing support to the Central and School-based finance teams.

All About You

Do you have what it takes to join us? The Finance Officer, we would like to join us will:

Have some experience working in a finance and/or business role.

Ideally be part-qualified or studying for an Accountancy qualification (AAT), but this is not essential.

Be highly organised with a meticulous eye for detail.

Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.

A genuine interest in working in an education environment.
