An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic School Games Organiser to grow the engagement of local schools in the School Games and inspire young people to be physically active for life through positive experiences of daily activity and competition.

In addition to leading the School Games locally, you will be running an 18-month pilot in Tower Hamlets to “super-charge” physical activity and test new approaches.

We are seeking an individual with:

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills when interacting with other education settings externally and internally at Cubitt Town Primary
  • Recognition of the importance of delivering a top-quality PE experience for local primary school pupils and the importance of this on the reputation of our school.
  • The ability to operate and communicate at all levels of school staffing and management
  • The recognition of the importance of high-profile events to the marketing of our school
  • Excellent pupil behavioural management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, time management and attendance
  • Commitment to our school and its pupils
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work with minimum supervision and the ability to work within a team

The post holder will work with national guidance from Sport England and the Youth Sport Trust, within a strong local partnership of School Games Organisers, the London Marathon, and wider stakeholders.

What the school offers its staff

We believe that physical activity is fundamental to a happy, healthy, and successful life. Cubitt Town Primary School opened on 1st April 2022 following the amalgamation of Cubitt Town Infant School and Cubitt Town Junior School. The school is a larger than average 3 form-entry, community maintained school with up to 700 pupils on roll. Children are aged from 3-11 years old. The school is in a three -storey building with spacious, well- resourced outdoor areas for play and learning.
We are situated on the Isle of Dogs within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, an area of considerable socio-economic contrasts. It is a diverse and vibrant area with good access to all that the capital has to offer. There is a community farm close to our school which offers children the opportunity to experience rural and city life simultaneously.
At Cubitt Town Primary School we envision a vibrant learning community where every child is nurtured to become a confident communicator, a collaborative team player, a curious and critical thinker, and a valued member of our school family. Our primary goal is to cultivate a love for learning by placing emphasis on oracy, collaboration, inquiry, and fostering a sense of belonging.
