What skills and experience we're looking for

Do you have the vision, expertise and credibility to shape curriculum and teaching across a growing Multi-Academy Trust?

Blackdown Education Partnership is seeking a highly experienced and inspirational leader to join our central education team as our School Improvement Partner: Curriculum and Pedagogy.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a significant role in shaping the quality of curriculum, teaching and assessment across our schools. Working closely with our Directors of Education, Headteachers and senior leaders, you will lead the development of a coherent Trust-wide approach to curriculum and pedagogy, while recognising the individual context and strengths of each school.

At the heart of the role will be our Achieving More Together strategy. You will help ensure that ambitious curricula, expert teaching and strong foundational skills are consistent features across our schools, championing evidence-informed practice and ensuring that our work makes a genuine difference to children and young people.

We are looking for an experienced senior leader who can:

• provide strategic leadership for curriculum, teaching and learning;

• support schools to develop high-quality, inclusive curricula;

• champion evidence-informed teaching and pedagogical practice;

• lead professional development, coaching and collaboration across the Trust;

• use performance information, evaluation and quality assurance to support improvement;

• work effectively with Headteachers and senior leaders to identify priorities and secure sustainable improvement; and

• promote high expectations and equitable outcomes for all pupils, particularly those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged.

You will need to be an accomplished educational leader with a strong track record of improving curriculum, teaching and pupil outcomes. Just as importantly, you will need the interpersonal skills and professional credibility to influence, challenge and support experienced leaders and to build strong relationships across a diverse group of schools.

Blackdown Education Partnership is a growing, collaborative and values-driven Multi-Academy Trust serving communities across Devon and Somerset. Our work is underpinned by three clear values: Equity, Opportunity and Community.

We believe in the potential of every child and in the power of excellent schools to transform lives. If you share that belief and want the opportunity to influence educational practice across a growing Trust, we would love to hear from you.

If you are keen to find out more about the role, our Education Directors will be holding a series of information sessions over Teams where they will outline the key requirements of the post and be available to answer any questions.

You can book into one of these slots by contacting Paula Gibson: gibsonp@bep.ac
