School Inclusion Administrator job summary

Following a strategic review of Academy priorities, we are seeking to enhance and develop the Academy’s Admin Team by appointing an experienced School Administrator, with a focus related to Inclusion and the AP and EHCP review processes. This role is essential for managing a multitude of administrative processes If you’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy variety, then this is the role for you.

37 hours per week, Term Time Only plus one week (40 weeks)

Salary: Actual £22,302 per annum (Full Time Equivalent: £25,979) (Pay review pending) TBOWA Support Staff Scale 19

As a School Inclusion Administrator, you will be welcomed into an exceptional team of professionals to:

  • Undertake a range of administrative tasks, including filing, record keeping and minute taking, preparing and sending letters, coordinating the inclusion calendar, as well as data collation and presentation, for a variety of school departments
  • Setting up, and managing, spreadsheets and systems to help with monitoring and recording of information within inclusion.
  • Manage and prioritise the assessment list and diarise/liaise with specialist assessors regarding pupil assessment.
  • Manage and track initial referrals for learning support from teachers/ pupils/parents/specialists whilst providing first level support.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for parents, providing support and direction where necessary.
  • Work closely with the Exams Office to manage the JCQ Access Arrangements Online application process for public examinations and manage an electronic filing system which includes all required regulatory documentation for annual JCQ inspections.
  • To liaise with the Exams Officer to support with administration of EAAs during exams.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism, upholding the school's standards and policies at all times.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have proven experience in a school administration role or in a fast-paced office setting, with specific experience managing suspension-related tasks being ideal.
  • Have strong organisational skills and be able to work to tight deadlines, whilst still being flexible and keeping a high level of attention to detail.
  • Be IT literate with a thorough knowledge of MS Office and be familiar with the use of databases
  • Be skilled in using the SIMs MIS System for educational administration (training will be provided)
  • Be customer focused and process driven.
  • Strong understanding of administrative procedures, experience with SEN procedures would be preferred.
  • Have excellent communication skills, capable of effectively liaising with local authorities, as well as students, parents and staff.
  • Have the ability to use your own initiative and capable of lone working
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a busy school environment.
  • Be proactive in updating processes and maintain up-to-date knowledge regarding the AP and EHCP review processes
