Purpose of the role
To provide supervision for students during the mid-day break to ensure maintenance of good order, good behaviour, discipline and the safety and welfare of students.
DETAILS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisepupilsboth inside the building and outside in the school grounds during the mid-day break.
Supervisepupilsin designated dining areas during the mid-day break while they are eating their lunch, including assisting with feeding programmes were necessary.
Clean tables, chairs and floor of spillages and debris between sittings, prior to the tables being re-used. Clean up spillages as they occur.
Report any incidents or concerns about the behaviour or safety of students usingappropriate schoolreporting systems.
Post holdersrequire:
Ability tomaintaingood conduct and discipline and ensure the general wellbeing of students.
Ability to show understanding of the needs of children on varying age groups
Able to act quickly and deal effectively with any situation which may arise.
Understand the need to maintain appropriate relationships with colleagues, teachers and other school staff and students and therefore be: -
Able to work on own initiative also as a team member
Able to act on instructions.
Able to maintain absolute confidentiality.
Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Experience of supervising students between the ages of 2 and 19.
Evidence of basic competence in English
