School Meals Supervisory Assistant job summary

We currently have an opportunity for a friendly, caring and compassionate SMSA (School Meals Supervisory Assistant) to join our dedicated lunchtime team.

The role will be term time only plus 2 inset day, Monday to Friday 6.25 hours per week (Mon to Fri 1.25 hours per day). Actual salary £3,492.

The successful candidate will be passionate about working with children, will be reliable and enjoy working as part of a team.

A paediatric first aid certificate of willingness to learn would be preferred

Your main duties will be:

1. To help the children during mealtimes, encouraging a safe, clean and pleasant environment for children to eat their lunch

2. Assist in setting up and cleaning dining areas during lunch service

3. Encourage the children and engage in high quality, inclusive play activities

4. Manage the behaviour, safety and welfare of pupils during this period, in line with the schools Behaviour and Safeguarding Policies

5. Work collaboratively with other members of the school team and build positive relationships with our children
