Are you a meticulous and friendly administrator with a passion for organisation, people, and process? The Grange Academy is seeking a part-time School Office Administrator (HR/Payroll) to join our professional and supportive team. This is a permanent position available from September 2025.
The role is for 20 hours per week during term time (plus INSET days), with flexible working hours, including start and finish times within the school day - perfect for those seeking a role that fits around family life or other commitments. You may choose your working days; however, availability during Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes is mandatory.

Core Purpose
As our School Office Administrator (HR/Payroll), you will play a vital role in managing HR processes, coordinating payroll and maintaining accurate staff records and compliance systems. You will also support the Headteacher with policy management and governance administration, contributing to the overall professionalism and organisation of the school.
This is a varied and rewarding role that sits at the heart of the school’s internal operations, ensuring our team is supported, systems are up to date, and statutory responsibilities are met with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain accurate staff records, contracts, and HR files in line with safer recruitment and data protection requirements.
Liaise with the payroll provider and internal staff to process monthly payroll submissions, timesheets, and adjustments.
Monitor staff absence, maintain appraisal documentation, and support onboarding and induction processes.
Maintain and update statutory content on the school website and support GDPR and compliance processes.
Manage the school’s asset register, ensuring equipment and resources are logged and updated.
Support the Headteacher with policy review cycles, document formatting, and statutory paperwork.
Provide administrative support to the governing body, including scheduling, preparing documents and liaising with the Chair and Clerk.
Produce reports and collate data for external agencies and school leadership, including workforce census and staffing reports.

Discreet, professional, and confident working with sensitive HR and payroll information.
Friendly, approachable, and able to build positive working relationships.
Confident using ICT systems such as Microsoft Office, Arbor, or Every (training will be provided).
Calm under pressure and able to manage deadlines independently.
