Are you an organised, proactive and friendly administrator ready to make a real difference? The Grange Academy, a Junior School in Letchworth Garden City, is seeking a full-time School Office Administrator/Receptionist to join our dedicated and supportive team. This permanent position is available from September 2025 and offers a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of our school’s daily operations. The role is for 37 hours per week and your working weeks will be term time only plus INSET days.
The Grange Academy is proud to be part of the Agora Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust specialising in primary schools across Hertfordshire.
Core Purpose
As our School Office Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school’s day-to-day operations. From managing communication and school records to supporting with event logistics, first aid, and health and safety, your work will be key to keeping our busy school running effectively and warmly welcoming all members of our community.
Key Responsibilities
Be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and external agencies, ensuring a warm and professional welcome.
Maintain accurate manual and digital records using online systems.
Provide general administrative assistance including emails, letters, filing, and diary management.
Monitor pupil attendance and liaise with families regarding absence notifications.
Coordinate school communication including newsletters, emails, post, and voicemail.
Manage supplies and order resources across the school site.
Organise school events, trips, and visits (including liaising with providers, tracking payments, and scheduling).
Maintain and update the school website and social media accounts.
Oversee elements of health and safety compliance, including booking contractors, managing COSHH documentation, and conducting fire warden duties.
Act as the appointed first aid contact and manage medication and pupil medical information.

Calm under pressure and adaptable to the needs of a busy school environment.
Confident using a range of ICT systems (training can be provided on Arbor, Every and other school-specific platforms).
