What skills and experience we're looking for

School Senior Leadership Opportunities

We are looking for Middle Leaders ready to take on their first Senior Leadership role, existing Senior Leaders looking to progress to Headship, and experienced Senior Leaders looking to broaden their experience across different schools.

We have a range of exciting current roles and career development opportunities to suit you and your professional growth ambitions. Our Senior Leaders work throughout our diverse family of twelve schools including two alternative provisions schools, two selective secondary schools, a studio school, five comprehensive secondary schools, a primary school, and a special school. We are looking for leaders who are excited about working at an Academy Trust that puts social mobility and social justice at the heart of everything it does.

This career opportunity isn’t solely for one specific leadership role or school, but instead we are looking to put together a team of the most talented school leaders to really make a difference across all of our schools.

By joining this team of new and developing school leaders, you will benefit from a three-year bespoke programme of leadership development, coaching, mentoring and support, enabling you to sustainably grow your career with us.

We are recruiting to these roles with the offer of flexible starting dates. All roles are permanent positions and will be paid on the Leadership scale. You will be employed by The Mercian Trust and initially work in one of our schools to best match your skills and development needs, and our schools’ requirements. You will benefit from the opportunity to experience the diversity of our different school settings.
