Term time only plus 5 INSET days Start date: ASAP Closing Date: 19 May 2021, noon, however applications will be processed on arrival We are looking for a passionate and motivated Science Study Support Assistant to work within the science faculties across Fitzharrys and John Mason Schools. This is a unique opportunity due to funding from the Mercers to support students both in their lessons and beyond and bridge the disadvantaged gap. Students from disadvantaged backgrounds often find school more challenging and due to the move to online learning over the past year throughout the lockdowns many students have struggled to access their work. This is a new and exciting post to help bridge the gap and ensure that all students thrive in Science. You will be working in classrooms to support students but also have the autonomy, under the direction of the heads of faculty to support students beyond the classroom. You should have a science-background and be enthusiastic about science education. You will be confident helping students with both the theory and practical aspects of their work (although training will be provided for all practical tasks). You will work 50% at Fitzharrys School and 50% at John Mason School as part of the Abingdon Learning Trust. All Abingdon Learning Trust staff benefit from our induction programme and our comprehensive CPD programme as part of a school community committed to getting the best from everyone. Through our focus on high quality teaching and learning, and excellent behaviour, our school continues to grow and develop. This is an exciting time to join us in our continued development. If you want to be part of a Trust with strong working relationships at the heart of every interaction, a committed and caring staff, and a culture of working to get the very best from every child, then we look forward to meeting you. An application pack is available from the Fitzharrys School Website, John Mason School website or from recruitment@abingdonlearningtrust.org CVs alone are not acceptable.
