Wildern School is a popular, oversubscribed secondary school situated in the Southampton suburbs. We are a school with significant strength in the CPD of staff, developing our teachers for the next stage of their careers. Graded as ‘OUTSTANDING’ by Ofsted in November 2012 for the third consecutive inspection, we are committed to being a centre of innovation, creativity and enjoyment for both students and staff. All 1927 pupils and staff alike can take advantage of excellent facilities which include a lecture theatre, digital media suites, a recording studio, both PC and Mac Suites, community sports centre and access to a professional theatre.
On 1 July 2018 Wildern School became a Multi Academy Trust. We have been given approval from the Department for Education to open two new free schools in the local community to meet basic need - a 2-form primary school proposed at Boorley Park to be known as Boorley Park Primary School, and a 7-form entry secondary school potentially located at Woodhouse Lane in Hedge End to be known as Deer Park School (both are subject to planning permission).
Having been designated as one of the first 100 Teaching Schools in July 2011 we have a proven history of outreach with other schools, both at a Primary and Secondary level. This is an exciting time for the trust and all colleagues joining us.
