What skills and experience we're looking for

The John of Gaunt School is seeking to appoint a passionate and forward-thinking Science Teacher. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.

In this role, your duties and responsibilities will include workingcollaboratively within a strong and supportive subject team, contributing to whole‑school initiatives, and using effective assessment and feedback to drive pupil progress. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality science teaching across a full age and ability range, using engaging and well‑planned differentiated lessons to maximise student achievement. The role includes pastoral responsibilities, with all teachers acting as tutors, and opportunities to be involved in a wide range of extra‑curricular activities. The John of Gaunt School is large and dynamic school with approximately 1270 students on roll. We are currently a single Academy and actively promote collaboration with our feeder primary schools through the Trowbridge Schools’ Social Enterprise - Collaborative Schools Ltd and the West Wiltshire Alliance; a partnership of 8 secondary schools and Wiltshire College. Our school roll is rising significantly each year and our reputation has accelerated over the last two years.
