Science Teacher job summary

We are looking to recruit a Science Teacher who is committed to comprehensive education – someone who genuinely wants to make a difference in students’ futures, and committed to, and understanding how outstanding teaching and learning can transform lives.

The main responsibility will be for delivering high quality education by modelling good practice. Additionally, you will be required to contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the Academy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and stimulate pupils’ curiosity, interest and enjoyment in the specialist subject within Science.

• Develop pupils’ familiarity, competence and confidence within the subject.

• Provide challenges for every pupil and encourage all pupils to achieve their potential.

• Contribute and engage in extra-curricular subject-related activities.

• Share in departmental best practice.

• Willingness to invest extra time outside of a lesson to ensure students achieve the best standard at both Key Stage 3 and 4.

About us

We are an over-subscribed, high-performing, non-selective Academy. We have been a consistently “Good” OFSTED school since 2012, with our most recent inspection being December 2019. Our students have consistently achieved some of the best exam results in Southwest Hertfordshire.

In December 2016, we moved into a ‘new build’. This gave our students the learning environment they deserved, and they have thrived in it.

Our ethos is built on the words Believe | Strive | Achieve. We believe that students should have the highest possible aspirations for their future, and that through our support and hard work they should be able to achieve whatever they wish for.
