Science Technician job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Science Technician to support our science department/laboratory.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring experiments, equipment, and materials are prepared and maintained to support teaching and research activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, setting up, and clearing away equipment for science practical lessons

  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed

  • Supporting teaching staff during practical sessions when required

  • Managing chemical stocks and ordering supplies

  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of health and safety documentation (COSHH, risk assessments)

  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-organised laboratory environment
