We are looking for a passionate Science Technician to provide technical support to teaching staff and ensure a safe and clean working environment to facilitate high-quality teaching within the faculty.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Faculty, this post holder will

Assist teachers with preparation of resources and equipment for lesson delivery on a daily basis

Assist in lessons as required during practical sessions

Develop apparatus and equipment for use in practical sessions and provide technical advice and assistance to teaching staff as required regarding resources for practical work and demonstrations

Carry out practical demonstrations in the classroom as required

Construct and modify apparatus as required, at the request of teachers in the faculty

Pay range:

SCP 12 - 17 £10,197.05 - £11,061.37 (FTE:£28,598.00 - £31,022.00)

15 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Permanent

Qualifications and Skills:

5 GCSEs including Maths and English (minimum grade 4 or equivalent)

Relevant qualification in Science or related subject (ideally level 5 or above)

Working knowledge of health and safety including COSHH

Good knowledge of up-to-date techniques, materials, and equipment relevant to the National Curriculum
