Science Technician job summary

Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre are seeking a Technician to join our well-resourced Science Department, applications from Physics specialists would be particularly welcome.

Your opportunity

The role will include assisting in the lab, preparing for lessons and experiments, ensuring all apparatus and chemicals are put away correctly and adhering to health and safety standards. 

What we are looking for

The ideal applicant will

  • have previous experience of working in a school science lab, (but full training will be provided).
  • be happy to work alone as well as part of a team of experienced Technicians.

The Details

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: GLF Associate 3.1 £25,001 - 3.9 £26,782 FTE (actual £20,374 - £21,826)

Hours of work: Term time only, 35 hours per week - 8am - 3:30pm

Closing Date: 19th July 2026

Interview date: TBC
