Join Our Team at Parkside School as a Science Technician
Parkside School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and organised Science Technician to join our team.
In this role, you will deliver outstanding technical support to enhance teaching and learning across the Science department, helping our students reach their full potential in a safe and inspiring environment
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, set up and clear away specialist scientific equipment, chemicals and teaching resources for practical lessons.
Maintain high standards of Health and Safety within all prep rooms and laboratories, strictly adhering to CLEAPSS and COSHH guidelines.
Assist teaching staff during practical lessons, providing 1:1 support to students where required.
Oversee stock control, place orders for consumables and manage incoming deliveries.
Support broader school life, including acting as a Coach for a small group of students and assisting with exam invigilation.
What we are looking for
Qualifications: GCSE English and Maths (Grades A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent Level 2 qualification.
Knowledge: Sound understanding of Health and Safety standards, safe chemical storage and practical equipment maintenance.
Skills: Strong organisational capabilities, attention to detail, clear communication, and proficient IT skills.
Qualities: Highly motivated, adaptable and passionate about working alongside young people in an educational setting.
Commitment to safeguarding, child protection and promoting equal opportunities.
