Science Technician job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Support Team for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team-orientated school graded as ‘Good’ in all categories (Ofsted June 2018). The vacancy is for 30 hours per week and is on a Term Time Only basis. We are looking for an experienced Science Technician to join our small team of technicians supporting both science staff and students at key stages 3-5. You will prepare, maintain and assist with safe use of specialist equipment, resources and materials. Providing professional technical support to enhance the delivery of the curriculum by the Science department. Specific subject experience is not needed and training/CPD will be provided for subject specific skills. We have a strong Science department who work collaboratively and are fully supportive of both staff and students. Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
