Are you an enthusiastic and inspiring English teacher ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our English Department as the Second in Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Head of Department in leading and managing the team, shaping the curriculum, and ensuring outstanding teaching and learning across all key stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Department in the strategic planning and day-to-day management of the English Department.
  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across KS3, KS4, and ideally KS5.
  • Support the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where necessary.
  • Contribute to the professional development of department staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passionate and innovative teacher of English.
  • Experience of teaching across KS3, KS4, and ideally KS5.
  • The ability to support and inspire colleagues and students.
  • A commitment to raising standards and achieving excellence.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
