Your new role
We are looking for an expert teacher of English to join us as 2nd in charge of the department and support our brilliant Head of English. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of English to ensure that our ambitious English curriculum delivers exceptional outcomes in the years to come.
As part of Lift Schools, we have set the ambitious goal of 90% of our students achieving a good pass in English and Mathematics by 2028, and to continue the year-on-year rise in the number of students achieving the highest grades. It is this success that will allow every young person who attends this school to access the most ambitious future as they enter adulthood.
You will be joining a talented and cohesive team of English teachers with a wide range of strengths and experiences. As 2nd in charge of the Department, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of our key stage 3 mastery curriculum. The role is designed to provide a platform for further professional progression in the near future.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with strong subject knowledge in English, strong classroom management skills and a passion for the subject. You will have a successful track record of improving the education of pupils and know what excellent education looks like in a classroom. Whether you're in your first year of teaching or your tenth, you will be warmly welcomed and supported here.
