Second in Science job summary
Stour Valley Community School is seeking a Second in Science to support the Faculty Leader of Science from September 2022, for which there is a payment of TLR 2b, currently £4,783 per annum. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to achieving the best possible outcomes for our students and will be a committed team player who is determined to make a significant contribution to raising attainment across the Science Department.
The successful candidate will:
• Ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in the curriculum area and continue to develop Years 7 & 8 to ensure it is relevant and fit for purpose.
• Be able to be drive forward the quality of teaching and learning in the department.
• Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students in Years 7 & 8 and use the data collected to highlight students and working alongside the Faculty Leader of Science to construct interventions that impact on student outcomes.
• To coordinate the delivery of syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies, assessment and teaching strategies in the department in Years 7 & 8.
Additional allowances
Payment of TLR 2b, currently £4,783 per annum.
