SECONDARY PHASE SEND AND INCLUSION LEAD (SENCO) job summary
As the Secondary Phase SEND & Inclusion Lead, you will take day-to-day leadership of SEND and inclusion across our growing Secondary Phase, working closely with the Primary Phase Lead and Leadership Team.
You will lead, coordinate and evaluate targeted and specialist provision, lead and develop support staff, and help colleagues identify needs and make effective reasonable adjustments. You will oversee key SEND processes, including the graduated response, EHCP provision and reviews, and work closely with pupils, families and external professionals.
A key part of the role will be ensuring that additional support enables pupils to access an ambitious curriculum, participate fully in school life and develop increasing independence. You will also play a central role in transition, particularly from Year 6 into Year 7, as our Secondary Phase continues to grow.
This is an opportunity to have a genuine influence on the development of SEND and inclusion at St John’s, helping to shape provision and practice as the school grows.
