28 Hours per week Term time plus one week
At Greyfriars Academy we are on a journey to becoming a good school. We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil who has Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis, both in and out of the classroom. The successful candidate should be enthusiastic and creative, with experience of supporting pupils in a classroom environment.
The school are looking for someone who can:
Work effectively with children who communicate verbally and non-verbally to ensure they make progress towards the Education, Health and Care targets
Work as part of the team at the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo to support teaching provision and pupils’ learning
Under the guidance of the teacher, work with a child with additional educational needs, to help them to achieve their full potential and show the flexibility needed for this
The successful applicant will provide tailored support to the pupil’s specific needs and work with the pupil to manage behaviour and promote learning development
Be a good team player and prepared to continue with professional development
Use their creativity and initiative to adapt to the pupils needs as they change
The ideal candidate will have:
Some experience of working with pupils on a 1:1 and KS1 basis
A calm and nurturing approach
Patience to give the child the chance to
An understanding of, or willingness to learn about Autism
At least 6 months experience working with children in the last 2 years
Legal right to work in the UK
