SEN Learning Support Assistant job summary

Dorridge Primary School, a large three form entry, community Primary school with a nursery, would like to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join their SEND team. The successful candidate will provide support for children within school that have physical disabilities, learning difficulties and social, emotional, mental health needs during the next academic year.

Contract: Part time,1-year Fixed Term, term time (39 weeks per year)

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, across Monday - Friday (8.30am – 3.30pm) and includes a 30-minute unpaidlunch break

Salary: Band C – qualified. Band B - unqualified (*see below).

Band C £25,992 - £28,624 full time equivalent per year. Actual salary for 32.5 hours, term time £19,571 - £21,553 per year.

Band B £24,027 - £24,790 full time equivalent per year. Actual salary for 32.5 hours, term time £18,092 - £18,666 per year.

*Special Terms: A relevant NVQ3 or equivalent qualification in childcare/ learning/ development is desirable but not essential.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Have enthusiasm for working with children and developing their individual skills and knowledge.
  • Have experience of working with children that have a range of additional needs.
  • Work effectively with other team members, foster and maintain working relationships with colleagues from other agencies.
