What skills and experience we're looking for

  • A passion and commitment to working with children with Special Educational Needs

  • Understanding of the barriers to learning that children with special educational needs may face and be able to use effective strategies to support them 

  • Experience of developing learning resources that scaffold and support learning

  • Awareness of child development and knowledge of how children learn

  • Experience of Working with or caring for children of a relevant age to those in the school 

  • Communication skills to liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers 

  • NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience  

  • Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 1 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework 

  • Completion of Department for Education Teaching Assistant Induction Programme (or to complete within first term)

SEN Teaching Assistant x 3

32.5 hours per week

39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 days)

Grade E, (SCP 10 - 14) - £26,835 - £28,624 (please note this is the full-time equivalent salary. The salary will be paid pro rata in accordance to hours and weeks worked)
