SEN RESOURCE BASE TEACHER - FULL TIME PERMANENT job summary

Compass Point is part of the Excalibur Academies Trust. We are a diverse and friendly primary school in the heart of Bedminster, in South Bristol. We are a single site, one form entry school with school field, forest school area and dedicated cookery and art rooms. . We offer wrap around care, a nursery and a Resource Base for children with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition. We believe in an inclusive model of learning for our children and one which develops life skills within a caring and nurturing established school community.

Our Resource Base is an integral part of our school and the children are fully involved in all aspects of school life. You will be supported by our existing Resource Base team and wider SEND team within our Trust. Members of staff within the Resource Base team are integral members of the wider school community.

  • Can challenge, inspire and support children in their learning;
  • Can provide outstanding learning opportunities for our children;
  • Have a good knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum;
  • Have experience of working with children with SEND;
  • Have a good understanding of how small steps of knowledge can be built on;
  • Have high expectations of children and a belief that all children can succeed;
  • Are committed to teaching using a creative, cross-curricular approach
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are able to create a high quality stimulating, interactive and creative learning environment;
  • Are able to work effectively within our talented and friendly team
  • Have a commitment to working with others on whole school priorities.
