Are you the Best Teacher?
Drumbeat School is looking at how we provide cover, we want to have the best for our children. All teachers are expected to be able to work on both sites across all age groups.
You will be covering absence, and supporting colleagues across the school where necessary.
We offer a great place to work. We have an exciting curriculum, a great staff team and provide lots of support, guidance, friendship and fun for all our staff. Drumbeat is a state of the art special school for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) from 4 to 19. Drumbeat is more than a school, it is a hub for (ASD) support for Lewisham. It takes a leading role in the provision of outreach support for children (and their families) in mainstream schools and Early Years Centres.
This teaching post is to work in our purpose-built school with its ground breaking facilities. We are continually striving to develop our work with our pupils, parents and carers, the local community and the schools we provide specialist support though our Outreach team and the training we offer. The school is committed to being a Centre of Excellence. The vision for Drumbeat is for its staff to work in trans-disciplinary ways - professionals working together seamlessly to meet the needs of the child or young person, putting the child and family at the centre.
Drumbeat's work is progressive, innovative and creative, with a 21st century pedagogy that puts children and young people's needs at the heart of everything it does. What qualities are we looking for? Qualified, experienced teachers to work in our school. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be an innovative, creative practitioner with experience of special educational needs, flexibility and reliability, high levels of motivation, imagination and enthusiasm to promote strong and effective teamwork. What can we offer you - a challenge! Brilliant students, ambitious working environment and school community.
Excellent CPD opportunities, creative collaboration, cutting edge research. Staff benefits include season ticket loans, bicycle loans and childcare vouchers etc. Highly professional staff team to support within the classrooms. Supportive and positive leadership team. Drumbeat is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child and young people and expects all staff and staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and Debarring check.
