About the role
We are seeking a two years experienced and highly skilled 1:1 SEN Specialist Teacher to provide an individualised educational programme for a student with complex Special Educational Needs. The successful candidate will combine specialist 1:1 teaching with support in mainstream lessons, adapting learning in real-time and helping the student develop academically, socially and communicatively.
The role will include designing and delivering a bespoke curriculum, supporting inclusion within mainstream lessons, implementing strategies for speech, language and communication needs, and working closely with the SENCO, teachers, parents/carers and external professionals. Excellent communication and collaborative skills are essential, alongside the ability to build positive relationships and maintain a consistent, student-centred approach.
We are looking for an educator with strong SEN experience, creativity, flexibility and a genuine commitment to enabling the student to become increasingly independent. QTS (Primary or Secondary), HLTA, or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable, alongside relevant experience of supporting students with significant social, communication and language needs.

Desirable: Specialised training in speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), for example Elklan, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), echolalia or PECS, or relevant training/certification in autism/neurodiversity support.
