SEN Support Assistant job summary

East Garforth Primary Academy are looking to appoint a SEN Support Assistant to join our academy in September 2026 on a temporary, part time basis.

Your new role

As an SEN Support Assistant, you will provide one to one personal support for pupils with additional needs who are in receipt of an Education Health Care Plan. You will provide special educational and/or medical support to ensure their successful engagement with and access to learning. You will need to maintain professional records and appropriate notes in relation to the individual pupil.

Hours: 32.5 hours per week / Term Time only (38 weeks)

East Garforth Primary Academy is located in the outer east side of Leeds in the community of Garforth. The academy is a slightly larger than average sized academy, catering for pupils from the Early Years Foundation Stage, through Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2. There are currently 257 pupils on roll, including 25 part time Nursery pupils. At East Garforth Academy, we strongly believe in giving individual attention to the needs of the children in our care. We encourage our children to be lifelong learners through the development of life skills, including responsibility, resilience, readiness for learning, resourcefulness and reflectiveness.
