What skills and experience we're looking for

Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, committed and have experience of working with children and young people with ASD/SLD/PMLD, to lead an additional class for the next academic year.

You will have responsibility for a class of up to 10 children, supported in the classroom by a Senior Teaching Assistant and a team of Teaching Assistants, as well as by an experienced and highly supportive Senior Leadership Team with a strong understanding of both the rewards and challenges of teaching in a special school environment.

Working closely with parents, therapists, specialist teachers and other professionals, you will play a key role in meeting students’ individual needs and helping them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. You will also take responsibility for a curriculum area (unless you are an ECT), which will be agreed upon at appointment and tailored to your strengths and interests.
